Aiken/Barnwell Counties Community Action Agency, Inc. (ABCCAA) is a people-oriented, non-profit, community-based organization that has been dedicated to assisting the people within its serve areas since 1966. Such areas include Aiken, Barnwell, Edgefield, Lexington, Richland, Greenville, Orangeburg, Bamberg, Allendale and Calhoun counties. In 2014, our Foster Grandparent Program began operating services in Laurens County as well. The purpose of our Agency is to help improve the lives of people in need as well as address a variety of community concerns. All of our staff possess a vested interest in and passion for helping others, and do so in a professional manner – with each and every family served.
As Chairman of the Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to work with a dedicated group of citizens from the areas we serve. Each Board member commits to assisting the whole family in fulfilling our fiduciary responsibilities with dignity, diligence, and grace. All members of this Board do an outstanding job in serving those who need our services the most, regardless of sex, age, race, color, nationality, religion, physical or mental handicap, or marital status. We pledge to our communities to continue to strive to develop and implement programs which will meet the needs of our area and to serve families in a non-threatening, compassionate and efficient manner. ABCCAA is fortunate to have such a dedicated leader, George A. Anderson, serving as the Executive Director. His leadership allows us to continuously expand the services we provide. Mr. Anderson and the staff receive high accolades from around the State of South Carolina on a regular basis. When called upon to assist other counties, they readily accept the challenge. We sincerely thank all of our community leaders, partners, and volunteers, as well as State and Federal officials, who continuously give their support to our Agency. ABCCAA serves the community with pleasure to ultimately eliminate poverty. We understand that this struggle is an ongoing fight and are committed to doing our part to make a difference one day at a time. |
